DVD-Recorders and TiVo?

Any ideas if there are any DVD-Recorders that are compatible with Tivo?
I really don't want to dump stuff to VHS because we never use it.

I dump all my sows to my Philips 985 DVD+ Recorder.. no problems at all.

Works great.... I use the 4 hour and can get 2 show son a DVD...

It's no wonder! With all the copyright spew going on these days, I can understand someone thinking that way. I mean, some feel that if you walk outside with a copy of your favorite show in your hand, even if you're just going to grandma's, you've just broken the law... :(

Just to clarify - from the point of view of a TiVo box, a DVD recorder is no different from a VCR - it's just some device that accepts video/audio input. The TiVo has no idea what's on the other end of the wire.

And like a VCR, if you've recorded some content on a TiVo that had Macrovision copy-protection, the DVD will either fail to record or the result may be unwatchable. The only way I can think of for this to happen is if you copied a commercial DVD or VHS tape to the TiVo first.

And for some odd reason, using the analog output to make a DVD from a TiVo recorded show is fine and dandy, but figuring out how to output the show in digital format to make a DVD is strictly forbidden.

how are we supposed to take these guys seriously when they in fact broadcast the show all over the universe (both satellite and broadcast tv). I mean really. any reasonable human figures that if he tells everybody on the planet something then its obviously no longer a secret.

i guess the legislative branch doesn't seem to mind as long as they get their campaign contributions and the people who pay them just want to keep us under their thumb.
