I'm having some trouble getting my tivo to connect to the internet through a linksys switch, EZXS55W. Does anyone know how I can setup the DHCP for tivo? any help is greatly appreciated!!

Wait - serial PPP or some kind of ethernet (Turbonet or USB to Ethernet)? How would you be connecting serial PPP to a router?

sorry for the confusion, here's my setup

cable modem --> linksys switch --> cpu on winxp --bash cable-- tivo

I have the serial cable connecting my tivo and my computer, and my computer to the internet through a switch.

My question is whether I really need a router or would a switch be okay, b/c I can't get the tivo to dial out. But I know the serial connectoin works because I can see the tivo on my computer through hyperterminal.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
