I'm now seriously considering moving from a Series 1 to a Series 2 DirecTiVo. Problem is, I'd like to sell my old DirecTiVo and it has about 120 hrs (out of 150) filled with stuff I want to save. Can I transfer these files to a new drive?

Not easily, and since that would probably require video extraction (a forbiden subject on this forum) you might want to check with the people over at the ************ forum.

Yes, very, very tough. How about keeping the old one and the new one for a while?

With DirecTiVos, you can't even really move programming between similar units because you'd have to do a "Clear and Delete Everything" to get the tuners to work with new drives - and there go your programs.
