Series 1 -> Series 2 Upgrade Offer - Recommendations after multiple Ser 1 Upgrades?

I'm looking for feedback here on whether I might miss out on anything by not taking advantage of the golden star offer to upgrade my series 1 SVR-2000 to a series 2 (with a free transfer of lifetime service), for the price of a 80-hr series 2, less $50 rebate.

I currently have a SVR-2000 that has been upgraded to 105 hrs and with Airnet. It works like a champ and I currently have lifetime service on it.

I don't think that the HMO option that the series 2s will have is something that we would use around our household.

Soooooo, opinions please - would it be likely that I or other folks would missing out on anything by passing this "once in a lifetime" upgrade offer?

Has anyone heard of any mention that Tivo might inactivate the current network hack that allows me to use the Airnet card (,401# dialing prefix) in the coming months?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I doubt TiVo will get rid of the ",#401" thing: that's needed on the Series2s to get broadband access working, too (I think -- I don't own any Series2s). I agree that the HMO thing doesn't really seem worth it to me, but I'm somewhat interested in the Series2s just for the extra memory and processing power. Plus, they'll be getting the new software (version 4) with folders, while the original TiVos won't. I am somewhat worried about some of the threads mentioning lower picture quality on the Series2s and the newer remotes being slower.

What I'd like to see, though, is what would be needed to do that switch. Obviously, if we wanted to upgrade the drives, we'd have to backup the new drive once it upgraded to the latest software and then restore back to a bigger drive (either to the 120GB that's currently in my original TiVo or to a new one). If we left the 80hr drive in there and added a 120GB, does the TiVo branded 80hr TiVo need additional hardware (mounting bracket, screws, Y-splitter for power, IDE cable)? Will we need to remove insulation? And what about our old TiVo/Turbo/AirNET cards? Do they fit into the Series2s or would we be better off just ignoring those sunk costs and buying a USB Ethernet adaptor. Is the list of compatible adaptors in the following link the latest and greatest?

EDIT: BTW, does anyone know what software version these TiVo-branded 80hrs TiVos SHIP with? Will we be able to do the initial Guided Setups via broadband, or will we have to use the phone?
