i am new to all of this. from what i read i assume the only way do anything to the hughes gxcebot directivo is to install the turbonet card and then upgrade the software etc..... from there. it has a serial and ir plug on the back but i was told those are for something else not to get a bash prompt.
i had the machine upgraded to 105hrs but now i want newer software on it and other stuff.

Some updates can be done by taking the GXCEBOT hard drive to a PC booting from a Linux boot disk that has added PowerPC/TiVo access modifications. (e.g. The Turbonet setup CD.)

I have only done some basic space upgrades and BASH access updates.

So does that mean you know whether you can get a bash prompt over the "serial" port on the back of the GXCEBOT or not?
I have hacked my GXCEBOT and have elseed installed and working but still can't get a prompt when connected to the port on the back labeled "serial". If it's not possible I'd be great to know so that I don't waste any more time and I'll just get a turbonet card.....:confused:
