Tivo Scart socket problem
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Thanks to the closeness of the Tivo's TV and Aux Scart sockets (who designs these things!?), I'm unable to fit two high-quality Scart leads.
Cheap leads are fine but mine have fat bolts that hold the connector housing together and thick, inflexible cables. Since the Scart for the TV socket has a lead coming from the right (looking at the back of the Tivo), it's blocked bu the Scart in the Aux socket.
A Scart lead where the cable comes from the rear of the connector isn't an option (long, component video-related story) and I'm on the brink of butchering another Scart plug housing in order to flip the connector over 180 degrees inside the housing so that the TV Scart points in the opposite direction to the Aux socket.
Before I destroy a £40 Scart lead though, has anyone got any other cunning solutions to this problem?

I use the SCART leads that come straight out with no dog leg. They fit fine.

Mine does that!
The one from the Aux socket is moulded plastic, and the one from the TV socket is a light plastic casing that coveres the 21 pins. They just fit side by side, but the Aux scart pushes against the casing of the TV scart, and so the casing isn't held together around the 21 pins!
Yeah, any cunning solutions would be great. :)

There are some nice SCARTs by JVC at (gasp) Dixons for about fifteen quid that have wide flat cabling rather then the thick round cables. Might be worth a look.

Yes - i remember getting a scart with a nice flat ribbon type cable from
www.cpc.co.uk
watch out for the surcharges on shipping though, not particularly cheap.
^edited cos of my own stupidity :)

My massive big fat horribly expensive QED SQUART cable fits fine - and is a 'standard' (albeit big, fat metal and heavy) shape dog leg...
and its a component cable (R,G,B, CVBS, LR audio)... ;)
