I just ordered a 40 hour Series Two from Tivo. Can I add another harddrive to this? I already have a 40 gig that was in my old Tivo. Is there space available in the chasis?

The simple answer is Yes.

The long answer is Yes, easily, if it's an earlier model (130040). All you need is a 3 connector IDE cable and a Y-cable for power.

If it's a newer model (230040), you also have to get a bracket from 9thtee.com.

Thank you for the quick reply. I thought I had seen on here people talking about the Series 2's not having a spot open for a second drive. You guys are fantastic with your guidance and help, thank you again...

Right - there really is no spot. The 9th tee bracket basically makes a new place.

We are also coming out with a bracket and a power solution - one problem with that unit with two drives is that the power supply isn't really rated to handle two . . .
