Double Trouble: Guided Setup and Tivoweb

OK, i'm a fool, but here goes.

I have a tivo with turbonet and tivoweb which I bought of ebay
(dont let that put you off just yet, I tested everything, and all worked beautifully)

on getting it home I realise I do not have the same set up and as this is my 2nd tivo I thought I would set it up with freeview when I purchase a box, but in the mean time I will run guided setup for just an ariel.

Now comes the problem. The tivo is set to connect via the internet, but does not like my setup somehow, so it cant connect

Problem 1) how the hell to I convince tivo to forget about guided set up, a reboot bring it back to the same guided setup prompt - still not connecting

Problem 2) I cant get it to connect to the internet. I am assured it was connecting using the original owners isp, and he has been very helpful and patient with me so I have no reason to beleive it was not working before.

I am on NTL (ex cw) Cabel moden BB and I have added to the /tvlib/tcl/tv/Ident.itcl file the: puts $conn "Content-Length: 0" in the appropriate place.

I would send the log file, but due to problem 1 the log ids massive as it contains requests for millions of channels for guided setup.

If anyone can tell me the important bit, maybe I can snip

Other points to mention, tivoweb is working on my lan to I know the urbonet card is ok

Do you think I should re-run the turbonet install or is that too drastic/will it kill tivoweb?

I can ping my own websites ip address from the bash prompt but I can ping its domain name - is that important? Also I can ping 204.176.49.3

I think my tivo has a static IP is that useful? I'm guessing it is for tivonet

I have just bought a cabel router if thats of any interest also.

Another thing I thought I should mention is that I have a UK tivo with 2.5.5 software

I would like to say thanks to those that helped, switching to phone dialing with nic_install got me passed the guided setup problem, thena re-install of turbonet and tivoweb has fixed everything else.
