Birds of Prey finalé (Spoilocity)

Largely great, flawed mainly by the unfortunate decision to make Harley a martial arts superstar, despite the fact that Mia Sara seems to have not a shred of athletic ability, requiring extensive and blatant (and painfully obvious) use of stunt doubles.
But the stories were fairly interesting, the action scenes (Mia excepted) were excellent, the actors have settled into their roles...I think they finally got it right. After it was cancelled, of course. Sigh.

I thought it was silly that they billed it as a 2 hour episode, when it was obviously 2 very separate episodes. And they really under-used Dinah in both, she basically popped up once or twice to remind us that she was on the show.
I did like them both, but I wish they had done more with them. Dinah used her powers only right at the end (very cool, I might add), and I was looking forward to Helena fighting Harley with her eyes closed so she couldn't be hypnotized, but they had to go the route of the contacts... A bit disappointing.
Of course, the fact that it's cancelled is more disappointing.

Great characters, not so great writing. I was a fan of the show, but primarily because I saw potential and kept hoping it would become great. As it was, though, it was more of a non-issue with me that they cancelled it. If it had stuck around, I probably would have kept watching it, but I'm not upset that they killed it.

I really liked the Reese/Helena relationship. They built up to it really well, and I'm disappointed we won't see it anymore.
Dinah's growth into a real hero was good too. She trained, worked for it.

well previous incarnations of Harley have demonstrated her as pretty adept at hand to hand but yes, the stunt women weren't that close in appearence.
Of course I had problems with the fact that it seems like everyone knows that Helena is Huntress and she's the daughter of Batman and Catwoman and everyone knows that Barbara and Dinah fight crime (and by association, everyone knows that Bruce Wayne was Batman). Not to mention that Alfred brought Wade into the Clocktower like that (I starting flashing back to when Alfred brought Vicki Vale into the Batcave in Batman). Not to mention that Huntress just spills the beans to Harley right away! Plus Barbara had no idea who Dr. Harleen Quinzel was.
However, I did like how the characters reacted and interacted as well as the fact that Alfred had something to do during the big fight and the fact he called Bruce at the end.
It was better than Enterprise.

From your posts, it wouldn't surprise me if you thought watching a fishing show was better than Enterprise. So what does that really say about Birds of Prey? ;) LOL

That's not saying much at all!
A root canal is better than Enterprise! :)

I just got to watch it this weekend. The Clayface story kind of confused me. I thought it was well-established that the Joker had killed Catwoman and crippled Batgirl, but this made it look like Clayface was impersonating someone with an unusual face.

I finally saw this episode, as well as the two they showed in January after the show was cancelled. It's a shame really that they started to get more interesting after it was cancelled.
It still bothers me that throughout the episode, they called it a SEASON finale and not a SERIES finale. It might have been just marketing, but it gave false hope.

No, they said the Joker got one of his compatriots to kill Catwoman, while he (the Joker) shot Batgirl.
