Bought Another TiVo/$100 Rebate?

So I went to Circuit City last night and made an impulse buy of another TiVo. The sign above the units said there was a $100.00 rebate. But when the sales kid printed out the form it was for $50.00. So he printed out another form and another receipt for me saying I should send it in twice. Unless I am mistaken about the rebate amount, I know I don't have a chance in hell of getting 100 bucks. But it would be nice to get restitution for a misprint.
Now I can't wait for HMO because it will be nice to be able to share shows between the two units.

If the sign at CC said 100 bucks, then they should be responsible for paying that additional 50 bucks. If he printed out two indentical rebate forms, there's no way Tivo's gonna pay both of them. I'd head back over there and hope the sign is still up and ask for my $50!

Sometimes Circuit City has there own rebates on top of manufacturer rebates... maybe they were supposed to print you another form with another address?

No, I'm sure this is a remnent of CC (corporate) misunderstanding TiVo. TiVo had one $50 rebate program for 3-4 months that ended Dec 31, and then another one of 3 months that started Jan1 and ends in March. Somebody at CC thought the two rebates were simultaneously going on and got excited. The signs at most CC's got taken down several weeks ago.

I had a similar incident with CC on this $100 rebate a month and half ago. CC called the 800 number on the receipt for the Tivo rebate and Tivo told them only one rebate for $50 was valid. CC then gave me $50.00 cash for the other $50 rebate since it was their error. They have since removed the $100 rebate sign.
