Dead Zone--giving comfort and aid to terrorists
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just watched this week's Dead Zone ("Misbegotten"), and I am shocked and horrified that USA didn't pull this episode. What is wrong with these people?!? Don't they know there's a war on? We're in a state of alert, and the only thing that can save us is duct tape. Yet here we see Johnny Smith, rendered helpless by--that's right--duct tape!
Imagine a terrorist attack. Our viewer reaches for his duct tape, but then he hesitates. "Wait a minute," he thinks, "I saw Dead Zone. I know duct tape ISN'T my friend!" That moment of hesitation could mean the difference between life and death.
Now, I don't know if the USA Network (is that an ironic name or what?!?) is actually run by al-Qaeda operatives, or if they're just a bunch of idiotarians who don't understand their public duty in a time of war. But either way, they are a menace to American freedom, and I urge all of you to send e-mails to Tom Ridge informing him of this threat among us, so he can shut down the USA Network and help make America safer from the terrorists who would destroy our way of life.

Why doesn't Johnny Smith know about the situation in Iraq? He needs to get off Greg Stillson's case and get down to some SERIOUS DEAD ZONIN'. Send him over as part of the UN Inspector team and have him start touching everything.

Maybe Saddam Hussein is just a pawn in Greg Stillson's plan for global annihilation...

I think Johnny should worry less about Greg Stillson and more about this new unholy alliance between Sarah and Dana. :D

This poses the question to everyone.
You wake up one morning to discover that you have Johnny's gift for one day. What would you do?
My Answer:
I would go to Vegas and lay bets down on everything.

But given the way this kind of story works, what would happen is word would get out about the bets being placed, and that knowledge would change the course of events; you'd end up losing everything. :D

Seriously I don't get this whoel Duct Tape thing that everyone is joking about lately. I dont really get the joke.
Is it because they recomend peopel duct tape themselves into their homes in case of a biological war? If so thats stupid, and I don't get why every comidian in the world is trying to make a joke about duct tape.

Because it's a ridiculous recomendation for 2 reasons. First, if there's some kind of biological attack, it would take hours for someone to block off every place in their home where air comes in. Second, even if you DID manage to block everything off, you'd sufficate within hours.
So yes, it's an idiotic suggestion and worthy of our scorn.

...although the primary target of my satire was those "content providers" who yank anything remotely tied to something bad in the news...
The duct tape was just a bonus.

I know, but it's not even funny either. at least.. not funny enough to make jokes about for 3 weeks.

Kinda like "Duck and Cover", if you remember that. It's not so much "funny" as "so scary it's funny", that our government would actually expect us to be comforted by such monumental idiocy.

I think the scariest part of all of this, is there are people who are comforted by this message, and are bying duct tape and plastic sheeting. Of course, these are the people who really need to be weeded from the gene pool, so I guess it is ok in the long run....:D :D :D

Reminds me of the ads for Y2K survival kits with a 3 month warranty. There was a conspicuous absence of the ads on TV after September 30, 1999.

That comment is just demented and twisted.. People Scared about terrorists trying to kill us, yet approving that people using tape be eliminated...
OUCH.
