Amazing Race 4- delayed!
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)
Posted by: lovetribe
It was scheduled for March 12, but now it's delayed. That sucks, The Amazing Race is my favorite show tied with Survivor.
Posted by: Turtleboy
Is the whole show already in the can? Or is it delayed because they are delaying fimling b/c of war?
Posted by: lovetribe
I have no clue. Initially ppl mentioned it was delayed. Then they said that it was scheduled for March 12th, but I looked at my Tivo guide and Amazing Race 4 wasnt in there! Im confused myself.
Edited to say: the show isnt in the can (yet), but it is delayed. They ratings have been very poor though, we're lucky they got picked up for season four.

Actually, this was mentioned before in this thread: http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-v...&threadid=98497
I have suspicions that the show will be a summer offering, to help with the ratings. And for reference, the show's ratings have never been bad, they're just not up to par with Survivor. Then again, what is?

I also heard that the reason it was postponed was that thay bought more episodes of Star Search and thay are going to keep it on ... to compete with Amercan Idol <or something like it> ... it is in Amazing Races time slot.

I never heard March 12th be announced as the starting date for Amazing Race 4. As it stands now, CBS has not announced a starting date. I would agree with the theory that it won't debut until this summer. The contestants are typically announced about a month before the show debuts, so that will be the only indication that it's going to start relatively soon. By then, they'll have the exact date announced.

I just saw it on another board. I didnt check into it a whole lot. And, as for the ratings, no they never were that bad, however, CBS had still talked about not picking The Amazing Race up for a fourth season. I guess it will be postponed for the summer.

I was under the impression that production is finished for the upcoming season.

I read on alt.tv.amazing-race that they finished filming in late January or early February.

Is it me or is Amazing Race the classiest of all reality shows?

Nope, not just you.

After seeing Flo in last season of AR, I wouldn't call it a "classy" show... but it does hold my interest as much (if not more) than most other so-called 'reality' TV.

The latest is still for an early summer run, bummer.

I saw a woman jogging in my neighborhood yesterday and I thought for a minute that it was Flo. But it wasn't.
I love the Amazing Race, especially the first season. I wish it was coming back sooner. :(

"Waaaaaaah! What am I supposed to do with a half million dollars. Waaaaaaaaaaah! Now Sally thinks she sees my jogging. Moooooooooaaaaaaaaaaan! Like I'd put forth that kind of effort. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!'
Just trying to help everyone who's waiting for their summer fix of Amazing Race. :)

Well, if you want to talk class-E, then you have to see "Iron Age", "Frontier House" or "1900s House"! Those were some classy shows. :D
Maniacal1, thanks! :p :D

Mole with Anderson is classier, Mole with Ahmahd(sp) is boring.

The Amazing Race is by far my favorite reality TV show. Unlike other shows, there's always action - it never has boring filler material like some do (Survivor, for example).

Without question.. I wathed a grand total of zero minutes of Celbrity Mole. In my book, that version doesn't count.

Never seen any of the Mole's...
I just like AR because it takes some skill, some thought, and doesn't have that much backstabbing involved.
It does have it's flaws, like gaining a 6 hour lead, and than having to wait 6 hours for a flight, but i understand why they do that.

I miss Anderson. :(

I really disliked Anderson during the first Mole--I thought he was stiff and fakey. In the second Mole he really turned it around and became very charming in a funny, sarcastic way.

It was strange watching Anderson Cooper on CNN late last night, asking serious questions about the war. I can still see him taunting Al for spilling wine during one of the challenges.

Anderson is still my favorite "reality TV" host. I tend to enjoy Amazing Race a bit more than The Mole, though.

It's a tough call for me - I love the Amazing Race, but the Mole is really genius in terms of a reality game show.
I have to admit that I watched celebrity mole, even though it wasn't very good. I think I was just aching for some mole supplement... it wasn't good and I missed Anderson.
Flo almost ruined the Amazing Race for me - crying and whining and wanting to quit, throwing your helmet like a little kid - you don't deserve to win! But Zack deserved to win for putting up with her - carrying her pack and consoling her...
but maybe he just wanted a prize of his own at the end...
I can't wait for the next AR!

The Mole may or may not be 'classier,' but it's infinitely more interesting in that you get to play along and try to guess who the Mole is. I agree with Dignan, Andersen is a very good host though I thought Ahmad was better than I expected him to be.
Hoping for a Mole 3.

For me, The Mole gets me thinking more than other reality shows. It's a smarter reality show than most. But The Amazing Race has far more suspense, action, and conflict, and so it ends up being a more entertaining show. With The Mole, I feel like "The Quiz" at the end of each show is a total anticlimax. It's the little things that happen during The Mole episodes that make it fun for me. That and Anderson. :(
One thing I really hate about The Amazing Race is the descriptions of Road Blocks and Fast Forwards. Phil recites the same canned descriptions every week and it gets very old if you're a regular watcher of the show. I wish they could figure out a less repetitive way to get new viewers up to speed.

So if we are discussing which show we like the best I would definitely go with The Amazing Race. I thought the first season of the Mole was good, and I almost didn't watch the second season after the show temporarily was pulled.
I really get bummed out when the "funny" teams are eliminated on The Amazing Race, Drew and Kevin from the first season, Danny and Oswald on the Second. Let's hope the next show is on soon.

TAR and The Mole are my favorite reality-based shows. I've only gotten into TAR since the second season, but I've been a devout follower of The Mole since Season 1 (including the 4 week period before the second season was put on hiatus).
