hi all. just bought a linksys USB100M that everyone says works now. my question is - what happens when the 4.0 upgrade comes down next month? will updates temporarily stop working until you go into the new software (4.0) and setup tcp/ip? i'm sure there will be some different settings after the software upgrade as opposed to the back door offered now. i worry about setting this up now as the wife is pretty finicky about technology. she loves tivo but if tivo suddenly stops working when i'm not home she lose confidence in it...

I've wondered about this too but seems like the worst case scenario will be that your daily call will fail for a few days and your guide data will be a little bit stale. I understand some people who are using phone lines only do weekly calls.
I hope in 4.0 that broadband people can be set up to do multiple calls, so if guide data changes on short notice you could stay accurate.

Just keep an eye out for the official release. When 4.0 is released, I'm sure someone will post the procedure from switching daily calls from the unsupported dialing prefix used to the supported broadband connection.
If you're concerned with guide data, just check your system information every couple of days as soon as the rollut begins.
