Linksys USB-Enternet problems

Having some problems getting my TiVo Series 2 downloading the data for the daily call... even getting past the test call.
I just got the Linksys USB-Ethernet adapter that comes with the little dongle (but the dongle looks optional). I plugged it in and rebooted TiVo. When I checked my DSL gateway (Netgear MR314... 4-port hub with DSL sharing and DHCP), I didn't see any new entries in my DHCP table. Also, when using my laptop with my wireless card, I got a notification that there was an IP conflict every time I started a test call. So I changed the wireless card to a specific IP and I stopped having the problem... but didn't see any new entries in my DHCP table (it's almost like they were cached because the new static IP I put in didn't appear).
Anyway, I changed the dialing settings on the TiVo to dial the prefix
,#401
When I do a test call, it hangs for about 3-5 seconds when it's negotiating, and then fails.
Only other thing I can add is that I'm not using the dongle that came with the USB adapter (because it didn't look necessary).
Any ideas?

Which adapter do you have: the USB100M or USB200M? The 100M is the one that works, 200M does not. Also, you may need to reboot several times and/or switch USB ports on the back of the unit to get it to come up right.

After two more reboots, it works like a champ. Thanks maharg18!
