Outside of the normal channels, (ebay, weaknees, digitalrecorder.tv, etc.), does anyone know of any other places where parts for a TiVo can be purchased?

To be completely honest, I want to fart around with the hardware on a non-functional TiVo so that I don't cause any harm to my fully functional hacked one. I'm curious how the thing works and if I break mine, I don't have the cash to replace it.

So, any ideas where I could get stripped down or broken TiVos or parts?

I sometimes see some posts on selling parts out of dead TiVo here and the Underground forum. Try some search, maybe with keywords like "dead", "hosed", "parts", etc. (I didn't try. Use your imagination.)

I belive people hanging around there also come here often, so don't do cross posting. I also know at least a few people collecting dead or no longer used TiVo. They might respond.

Depends also on what kind of TiVo you want to play with. I have (3) DSR6000 DirecTiVos that are in varying states of disrepair. I'd be willing to sell 1 or 2 of them (I want to keep one though). Drop me a private message and make an offer if you want this type of TiVo.
