Hey all -
I plan on buying an HDTV soon which would use the Motorola 5100 set top cable box to receive digital cable (and HDTV content) from my cable provider (Comcast). I know that I will not be able to record HD content with my Tivo , but I have the following questions...

Will I be able to use my Tivo to record all channels other than the High Definition channels? What I mean is, I currenly have 'regular' (non digital) cable and my channels only go up to 99. So when I switch over will I go to channels 100 and above?

I would appreciate comments from anyone who has set up their Tivo with a Motorola 5100 Set top box.

Thanks,
Wes

Yes, you'll be able to get all of what Comcast calls "Digital Cable" channels. I regularly record shows on channel 112 (DC Wings) and 303 (HBO Family).

You're only getting up-to four HDTV signals at this time from them, which is a bummer. I don't know why they aren't expanding that -- even for the broadcast networks that ARE simulcasting many shows in HDTV -- all they need is a well-placed HDTV antenna and inject it into to cable. (That's about what they do with the analog broadcast signals right now anyway.)
