Telnet problems

I just installed the TurboNet card today...
I had no problems with it getting an IP address, updating via the web etc.
However, whenever I try to log in to it via telnet, I get the following error:
login: login: No such file or directory
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, looks like I solved my own problem....

I had opted to put the line
tnlited 23 /bin/bash -login &
before the last "echo"

When I moved that line to the very bottom of the file (yea me for following directions....) it worked fine.

The only thing that puzzles me is why this would make a difference. In most scripts, this should not make any difference at all.... Especially not preceding vs. following an echo.

Anybody have any thoughts?
