Tivo Series 1, Adding 120gig hard drive to a 22gig unit.

I have a Tivo Series 1 20-hour unit here, which currently has a single drive (22 gig, according to Hinsdale's guide.) I'm trying to add a second B-drive of the 120gig variety. I've read Hinsdale's excellent guide on upgrading the Tivo, however I am a bit confused about something. Since I'm upgrading the Tivo to be more than 140 gigs (~142) do I need to do it a special way? I had previously upgraded another Tivo unit with an 80 gig drive, and I simply had to "bless" it. Can I do the same with this Tivo unit and 120 gig drive?
Hinsdale refers me to the second or third upgrade option.. but the second one I would rather not go through (I want to preserve the recordings on the unit) and the third one has me a little confused.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Doh, I just read this thread:
http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-v...threadid=106406
which answered my question for the most part. However, what if I don't want to replace the A-drive with the new 120gig drive? I thought that if I was replacing the A-drive with a non-quantum drive, I have to hack some files on the Tivo to get it to work right?

Don't bother with the 22G at all--put it on a shelf as a backup.
Do a mfsbackup | mfsrestore from the image on the 22g to the new 120g. Takes a while, preserves all recordings/settings/programs, and you don't have to bother with a backup (unless you want to wipe the 22G to use in your computer or something.)

Ok, but I thought I had to do something special to get the Tivo to work with a non-quantum A-drive? Or does MFSTools do that for me? Thanks.

MFSTools (latest version) will be fine. Read it closely.

Right - the non-Quantum issues no longer apply unless:
-you are using an older version of mfstools
-OR-
-you have TiVo software version 2.0 or earlier (this ione trips some people up who are restoring from older backups with newer software)
