In the imortal words of the comic book guy ... "Worst Episode Ever." I didn't even crack a smile durring this episode.

Really? There were all sorts of funny stuff.

For example, freeze frame the Power plant organizational chart, and you will see that Homer is below both Frank Grimes (with a line crossed over his face), and the inanimate carbon rod.

MMMMMM.....Past references.....

I stand corrected. I caught that too, and it brought back fond memories of the inanimate carbon rod episode.

I thought it was horrible too. My wife and I only laughed at that part as well.

And I liked the reference to Esteban Yan of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Except that he's on the Rangers now. Oh, well.

who is Frank Grimes?

Homer's enemy.

I caught the Carbon Rod reference as well. Classic :)

This episode was mediocre. After Krusty for Kongress and Strong Arms of the Marge, I was expecting better. I laughed occasionally, but grew bored 20 minutes into it.

I've heard rumors that there will be a shakeup of the writers for next season. I hope it's true.

There definately have been better Simpsons. This one had it's moments, but not the quality of the last few episodes.

It's not a great episode, but not one of the worst ones in the book.

Enough little inside gags in it that made me chuckle, like "Homer's 305th Everything's Back To Normal BBQ"

Didn't I see Mindy in that chart too?

No. Worst episode ever: Simpsons Safari. Hands-down unwatchable. This was high humor compared with that stinker!

You might remember him by the name he liked to be called. "Grimey"

:D

Okay, quite a bit OT, but I'm sure I'm in the right place for the answer:

Anyone know where I can find a WAV (or whatever) of Fat Tony rationalizing the hijacking of a load of cigarettes to Bart?

Yes she was number 4 on the chart. Two to the right of Smither's.

Ah, sweet Mindy. Homer's double, but opposite in the looks department and gender. Does she appear in any other episodes?

I thought the episode was OK, I laughed a few times though (through old age) I cannot remember exactly at what. I also found the show kind of disjointed where jokes seemed placed just as jokes not as part of the story itself. The jokes were funny but not really in line with the show.

I thought there was some real funny parts. I chuckled a few times. I laughed a few times together. The Plant picnic thing was funny:

Just a couple noted about this years plant picnic.

It will be held at the plant.
There will be no food.
The only activity will be work.
And the picnic is cancelled.

Or the France backstabbing joke was funny.

I thought that the episode in general wasn't that bad. The only thing that really bugged me was that it ended so abruptly. There wasn't really any resolution. It was like the writers ran out of script time, so they were just like, "okay.. and Homer is over it."

I htought it was pretty good... with Burns trying to brick him in like the Cask of Amontillado and Homer just waking up and walking away with a smile.

My wife and I both laughed quite a few times during this episode. The organizational chart crackd me up too. Actually, when the episode ended, my wife (who only watches the simpsons because of me) said "that was a funny episode" and I agreed. I can't remember the jokes I laughed at now, but there were several.

I liked it too! Mr. Burns laying those bricks down was great! Homer just wakes up, steps over him, walks away. I had a few good laughs during it. I don't like to watch any of the shows with expectations, because then I'll be sure to be disappointed. Instead, I just watch them casually and wind up laughing and enjoying them. And yeah, placing Homer below the carbon rod was pretty great!

Hmmm, I've been a huge Simpsons fan since they first aired on the Tracey Ullman show, and this one just didn't do it for me, I guess I expect too much, or maybe I was in a bad mood at the time, maybe it was the phase of the moon or something, oh well, who knows, I might catch it in syndication in a few months and laugh at it.:D
