The subject says it all. Anyone know happened happen to Julia Louis-Dreyfus' show? I thought it was coming back in March!

Last I heard, NBC was a bit wary of bringing back Watching Ellie, after the mediocre performance it had in the ratings when it first aired.
I hope it comes back. Personally, I enjoyed the show.
Edit: This was listed on zap2it.com's entry for Watching Ellie.
For the second season, the single-camera format and real-time conceit of the first season have been scrapped, and the show will now be shot like most sitcoms, with multiple cameras in front of a live audience.
It sounds like a second season is at least in the works. It's kind of a shame they're getting rid of the two concepts I found most appealing about the show.

Here's an article on Watching Ellie's return.
I'm with SkittlesDFW in that the single-camera format and real-time conceit were two of my favorite things about the original show. Oh, and Steve Carell. I love Steve Carell! He just recently returned to The Daily Show (after a long unexplained absence), and I hope he returns to Watching Ellie as well.

Yuck. A six week trial period running midseason? Between that and the formatting change, it almost sounds like NBC wants it to fail.

I thought the single camera and the real time was the show.

I guess nobody's watching her.

I'm trying to decide how to interpret that. Did you like the show or not, Bryan? :)

Watching Ellie stunk like a flaming bag of monkey crap. No way I will give it a second chance.

The real time aspect of the show - along with the single camera shoot made it an interesting diversion from the normal sitcoms. There were a few quite funny episodes during the first season - not to mention the lovely Ms. Louis-Dreyfuss. Certainly the best of the post-Seinfeld shows - which isn't exactly saying much. I'll watch when it comes back, but its already disappointing that they've decided against innovation.

I didn't care for the content at all. Didn't interest me a bit.
A did watch it for the real time and single camera aspect. I'm always interested in seeing new and different types of formats.
But, even that didn't hold my interest. So I guess a format change may be necessary.

I read somewhere though that with war coverage it might not get on. We'll see I guess.

I was intrigued by the format, and enjoyed an episode or two, but the characters drove me crazy. I couldn't watch because of the caricatures of people that they were - somehow really ridiculous sitcoms just don't do it for me.
I would watch it again if they axed or modified characters - the show itself wasn't terrible.
