Hi,
My TiVo stopped working about a week ago. When I went to watch TV in the morning the TiVo was on but there was no video signal. Repeated restarts by removing and reinserting the mains cable did not help. I eventually opened the case to discover the fan had stopped and both hard drives were very hot.
I replaced the fan to no avail. The power supply was my next suspect as the voltage levels coming out of it seemed a little off. A replacement power supply from allelectronics arrived today and has not helped.
The hard drives power up ok when the TiVo is turned on and the TivoNet card flashes a few times but does not stop on a solid light. No video or audio is heard and the fan does not spin. The TiVo on light is lit.
Tried putting the original drive back in but it made no difference. Also removed the TivoNet card but still no joy. I cannot get a connection via telnet.
Any and all ideas as to how to fix this would be welcome. Also, does anyone know exactly when the warranty runs from? Is it from the date of purchase or the date you subscribe? My warranty ran out at the start of this month just a few days before the TiVo died!!! Are TiVo UK still able to provide replacements anyway given that they are not made any more?
Thanks,
Mark.
