Does anyone know what might be causing the lines on this screenshot? It does it through all the outputs, and it even does it on recordings made on another TiVo (I put the hard drive from another one into this one and the lines are there even on my recordings).

I pushed the cables from the front down tight, and replaced the IDE cable. No difference.

Let me get this straight .... you swapped the hard drive from another Tivo into this Tivo and verified that the vertical lines are still there. Hmmm, I didn't think it was possible to swap drives like that without a "reset & clear" that would delete all of your recordings.

Anyway, so it sounds like something is affecting the video output of this particular Tivo (since you see the problem even when viewing the Tivo menus). You've ruled out a TV problem I assume by bypassing the Tivo. How is this Tivo connected to your TV (RF, RCA or SVideo?). If your TV as multiple inputs, you might try using different ones to rule out the TV.

My guess at this point is that it's either a TV problem or something wrong with the video output circuit of your Tivo. If it's the Tivo's video output circuit, then there's not much you can do.

Also, is this a new Tivo? Or did the problem appear suddenly on an older Tivo? Had you made any changes before the problem appeared?

As I stated originally, the lines are on all of the outputs. The TV is fine. Other TiVo units don't have the lines, and this unit has the lines on both the TV and my computer monitor.

I do not know the history of this unit. I just acquired it. Looks like I will be disposing of it soon.
