Image Restore

I made my image over two years ago (Blesstivo) when i got Tivo. I have the HDR112. When i do the restore the IN and OUT records do not match. I believe it may have something to do with the restore command i am using. Anyway i just assume to get a new image and restore with that.

Will someone please PM any info they may have re FTP site.

You made an image with BlessTiVo, or you added a drive? What command are you using for the restore - it sounds like you are copying with dd. Are you copying to two drives?

If you want an image PM'd to you, start a thread with that as the title.

I used Dylans boot disk for the copy and am also using it for the restore. When i copied the image i broke the image down to 650 meg chuncks to copy to cd. I then took the cd's copied them back onto a FAT32 harddrive and ran this command.

cat /mnt/tivodisk* | gzip -dc | dd of=/dev/hdc obs=32k

The system runs for 3 hours and then gives me

26760384 +0 records in
418131 +0 records out

I am trying to copy back onto the orignal Quantum 13.6 harddrive and then i will add back in the other drive.

My drive got wiped in a power surge.

Check out www.9thtee.com for links to what you're looking for. Get yourself a copy of MFS Tools 2.0 and Hinsdale's How To for backing up and restoring Tivo images as well as info to upgrade hard drives.
