I'm new to Tivo, but I have to say I love it. It's the coolest little gadget. Anyway, I'm considering upgrading my Tivo so I have more storage space. I have a Hughes GXCEB0T with Direct TV service.
I'm a Mac person and do know a fair amount about computers. So what are my options? Can I just buy a new HD and replace the one that is currently in my Tivo? Can I put more than one drive in my Tivo? Is it hard to do? Do I need to put certain software on the drive before I install it, if so can I do that with mac?
Basically, I'm new to this and I want to learn more about my options. Any help you can offer would be great!
Thanks in advance
Erik

Go to the 9th Tee website (www.9thtee.com) and download a copy of MFS Tools 2.0 and Hinsdale's How To for info on upgrading your Tivo drives.

Erik,
You can also just add a drive to your TiVo, prepared on your Mac. We host the MacTiVo blesser - its totally free. You can't prepare a backup with it, nor can you swap our your A drive with it, but you can add a drive to your GXCEBOT with your Mac with it without too much pain:
