HDVR2 Upgrade failure - incorrect capacity listed

HDVR2 upgrade unsuccesful. DD the original drive onto a Maxtor 120GB. Used both available boot CD's. Both times the new drive boots up perfectly but reports "variable, up to 35 hours". This appears to be true because adding more programs prompts me to delete some programs early.
How do I get the new drive to report "variable, up to 35 hours"? What did I fail to do?
Thanks

Just checking. Did you put the new drive back into the computer and perform Step 10?

'dd' alone doesn't do the trick - that just makes an exact copy, hence the 35 hours.
You need to add partitions to get the extra space. Use the 2.0 CD and run:
mfsadd -x /dev/hdc
Where hdc is your TiVo drive (change as necessary).

Weakness! You are awesome. Simply ran the 2.0 disc and the simple command. Bingo! Drive operating perfectly with 107 hours recording time. You guys are great. We should probably have a seperate forum just for HDVR2 upgrades because Hinsdale's instructions, although all-encompasing, are somewhat confusing for DirecTivo owners (simply my opinion).
Again, all the hard work and input from yourself and Hinsdale, along with the many others is appreciated by us novices.
