Maybe it was just me, but the end credits really crept up on me. I guess that is a good sign in a way - I was left wanting more.
So Claire finally hooked up with the art student. I guess he won't be sending her his ear anytime soon, but I still think that things with him will get complicated soon. Perhaps she will try again to break it off and he will turn stalker, or perhaps this whole gay angle that the show is working so hard will prove to be accurate.
Ruth and the intern continue to have a bizarre relationship. The whole hanky thing was odd - I assume that she was reminded of Nate Sr. the way she was fondling the drawer of clean hankies.
My question is - who left the cable on the porn channel?
And of course the Nate/Lisa drama continues. I don't think that their relationship is "rock" solid, but it does seem to have made a lot of progress. Nate's bemoaning the lack of beer for the weekend was very funny. The Brenda dream was too predictable - they should have hidden the fact that it was a dream a bit better.
I have a "bullet" just like Nate's!

I got the impression that the porn was like Skinemax, after midnight the programming changed. I like the intern/Ruth storyline, I hope they don't muddy it too much.
Claire's boyfriend is definitely going to lose it, he was way too angry after the humiliation.
Another good episode!

Yeah, I think that Claire's boyfriend is going to end up in one of the death scenes at the beggining. Anyone find it wierd that the woman who died at the beggining didnt appear in the episode at all after that? Maybe the fat guy was supposed to be the death scene and then they removed it?

Yeah - I wondered why they didn't show the XXL corpse's death. Seemed odd since his corpse got so much camera time in the episode.
The intern really went overboard with the apologies to Rico after the body fell over. I bet that gives Rico a nice power trip. That might delay his eventual explosion at the Fisher brothers for their slacker work habits. He may not be operating on an owner level yet, but at least he is not the lowest on the totem pole anymore.

Another zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...... episode. Season about halfway done already. Geez. We get spared most of the David/Keith crap and get a stupid camping trip. Yes we know Nate hates being with Lisa. We get it already. I was sick of the art teacher 2 episodes ago . The new intern has been the only good story line this season. Kathy Bates was good but it looks like she's done.
The writers must have worked on One Life To Live or General Hospital where plot lines are suppose to be sloooooooooooooooooooow and drawn out. I'm all for character development but come on.

Kathy Bates wasn't on camera much because she was busy directing the episode! :)

The episode seemed to go by quickly because it did... It was only about 45 minutes long.

Or maybe nothing at all will happen. You never know with SFU. Just because it seems like a setup for a story doesn't mean it will follow that path--that's why I like this show so much, it's unpredictable and funny.
I don't think Ruth was reminded of Nate Sr. at all. She just enjoyed the old fashioned ways of the new guy. The skinemax surprise was funny, although a little jokey (like the "gaytrix" reference a couple of weeks ago).
I really enjoyed the Nate & Lisa scenes. He's so pissed about being p-whipped by her. I wonder where it will go.
Anyone notice how most scenes in SFU fade to white instead of fade to black?

That's one of the show's trademarks. They've been doing that since the beginning.

Did anyone get what Ruth said after she sniffed the hanky? I mean she didn't say anything, she just mouthed words, but I'm not lip reader. Looked to me like "one one one", but that doesn't make any sense.

I was wondering the same thing, Demandred. I might record it again this week just to watch that scene. I want to turn CC on to see what the description says.

Not to nit pick, but it was 50 minutes long (when the credits came on I checked).

The end credits always creep up on me. I've gotten into the habit of pressing PLAY to check the progress bar so I have a rough idea of how far the episode is.
I thought this was a good one. I think with Brenda and the new intern that the show is back to being as good as it ever was. That is, very good but not perfect.
That looked pretty explicit for Skinemax. That was definitely weird, it looked like PPV pr0n.
It does seem like they put the wrong death scene on this episode.
Was that weird or what when Nate mutilated the snake? Just another hint that he is slowly losing it. I don't really find Brenda or Lisa particularly attractive, but the Brenda kiss vs. Lisa on the rock really showed that Brenda has more sex appeal, and that Nate has much better chemistry with her. That other couple was just so annoying. The husband couldn't even go on a two-hour hike with just him and Nate, but he could go off and F his wife for an hour while Nate had to babysit his kid. What an ass!

DLiquid... I agree with you 100%. That couple at the camping site was pathedic. Not to go on the hike with Nate was SO LAME. That adds to my reasons to NEVER have a kid. They ruin your life. And my goal is to avoid whipped couples like that. Problem is most people are in this whipped type relationship. Sorry for going off on my rant here.
But I liked the episode. Best one this season..
I still want more Brenda. And it looks like that happens next week.

The woman in the beginning was shown. Nate wheeled her in and Rico told him to store her in the freezer because the huge guy needed two tables. Nate said 'She died from a nose bleed" Then they talked about how that could happen - from a screwed up nose job.
The reason she was there was to frame the episode. Notice that that talk show she was going on had the same name as the title of the episode.

Yes, but SFU didn't start on time. Also, we had to watch "previously on" as well as the opening credits. Subtract all of that and we were definitely left with 45 minutes of actual show time.
In previous seasons the closing credits never started before 56 minutes past the beginning. In fact, previous seasons of SFU required me to pad in order to catch the "next week on". This season the longest one had the closing credits at 54 into the recording. Last year we were reliably getting 50-56 minutes of actual show time. This year we are getting 45-50.
In conclusion, not only has the show gotten worse, it has gotten shorter! Now that I think about it, that might not be a bad thing.

Speaking of the ending credits. Does anyone know the artitst of the song
at the end of the very last scene and during the credits? It was a cool little
bluegrassy, country, folky tune. Any help would be great.
Thank You.

Welcome to the forum!
According to the official Music Credits page, the song is Come and Find Me, by Josh Ritter. Audio samples are available in QuickTime and RealPlayer format.

Thank you very much, I looked on the official site, but obviously not far
enough.
Thanks again.

My sentiments exactly, except for the intern part. I think he and the art teacher are both way too television to fit into this show. I find that I'm only tuning in this season because of Claire and her new friend Russel. Even that isn't a great story arc; they're just both really compelling actors to watch. The others were, too, back in the old days when they had something interesting to do.

I just got an e-mail update from HBO, and thought they had spilled a big spoiler. They really hadn't, but proceed with caution if you don't want any details of this weekend's episode revealed.

The HBO e-mail read:
Six Feet Under
You won't believe what happens next. Nate goes it alone with Maya, David and Keith get dolled up, Ruth belts it out, and Claire receives a keepsake. See the surprises unfold this Sunday at 9pm ET.
So I am reading this, stunned that they would ruin a Nate leaves Lisa and takes Maya storyline so blatantly. So I popped over to the HBO website, and it told a different story. Apparently Lisa goes off to attend a food expo or something, leaving Nate to take care of Maya by himself. The picture on the main 6FU page showed Nate and Brenda sitting and talking on a scenic overlook with Maya in tow.
Should be interesting.....

I couldn't agree more. She is really something. Love those redheads. Remember the one on Sybil, who also appeared as a real hottie on a Sopranos episode? Yowza.
I am struck by how much Claire looks like her mother. They really could be true-life mother/daughter.

"Nate goes it alone with Maya" doesn't necessarily mean that he is leaving Lisa. I mean, we haven't really seen him spend any time alone with Maya -- maybe he just takes care of her without Lisa or anyone else around, or he takes her out for the day, or something like that.
Just a thought.

Yeah, that's what the HBO website confirmed. You snipped my quote a sentence or two early!
Hey mostman - "Its EAR time baby!!" too funny. I hadn't even thought of that, but I doubt we will see any Blue Velvet style ear action just yet - after all Claire did just deflower him.
....still laughing at "Its EAR time baby!!" heheheheheh.
