Installed like a champ on both my Tivos, no problems at all. Took about an hour to download 4.0 on a modem. Rebbooted Tivo, simply gave each Tivo a IP address , plugged in my router's gateway and DNS settings, and, voila !, worked instantly. Tivo #1 is 80 feet away from router and I have a 92% signal strength. Tivo 2 is 100 feet away and I have 70% signal strength, both listed as "excellent". Streaming MP3s work great, perfect quality sound on my family room speakers, easy to set up playlists or shuffle play. Same with photos, streamed quickly, easy to set up slide shows. Multi-room viewing works fine too, but be prepared for some buffering if you want to start watching something before it transfers over from the other Tivo, give it a 5 minute head start. minor problem with some static on the TV screen when I plugged in the USB adaptor, but simply moving it a couple imches got rid of the static. Haven't tried remote scheduling yet. Good job Tivo, I am more than pleased.

I like it. I really like it. It installed automatically and was able to find and download music and photos from my server running Media Jukebox's Media Server. Yes, there are a few bugs which I'll speak to later in this post, but overall, it's a superb piece of software. So, here's my likes:
- MJ categorizations are preserved!
- It's imported my smart lists and play lists!
- Pictures look great.
- Sound is 100% through my TV and home stereo
- mp3 track information on TV is fantastic
- ...and a bunch more excellent stuff.
Of course, there are a few, picky dislikes:
- Picture and album selection is a bit "clunky"
- When paging down through a long list of artists, everything is OK. When you page up, the names don't refresh correctly on the TV screen
...and the inevidable feature request:
- 70% of my music collection is stored in .ape format (lossless). Any way to add a few additional music decoders (ogg, too) in future releases?
Anyways, thanks for the most excellent product. I'm a very happy customer.

I've been really happy with it too. I ordered HMO this morning (I was home sick today - really I *am* sick) and got the TiVo Desktop software on my Mac, downloaded the 4.0 software to my TiVo, and let my MP3s roll on in the background while I dozed.
I'd like to thank the TiVo folks for supporting the Macs out of the gate, as many times we get left behind.
One tip for folks that have Plasma TVs or other displays where burn in may be an issue. It took me awhile of key punching to find it, but if you hit the clear key the display will go blank. The only time anything comes up on the display is when the songs change. It's not a "screen saver" in the truest sense, but it's not too bad.
I bet if I had read all the instructions I would have found the key combination faster, but you know how us Mac users are about reading documentation. :D

Just one more flawless experience here.
Ran update...when I needed to restart, plugged in linksys wireless USB adapter...immediately recognized ...did a test call - success...copied and played MP3's and pictures - perfect.
Got to buy another adapter for my other one tomorrow. I look forward to the streming working also.

Good info! Esp the Mac info, thanks.
Got my S2 really to do this, so I guess the time has come to place the order.

I"m very happy with HMO, but I am surprised at the lack of complaints about its incompatibility with screen savers, at least on Macs. Whenever my server screen saver kicks in, HMO music goes offline. This is not good. I hope that Tivo makes fixing this a priority. (Apple's OS X screen saver has not interfered with any other of my apps to date, so I don't think it's Apple's fault.)

No problems here with my OS X screensaver.
I'm not using one of the ones that came with the OS, though.
