Practice - This week worse than the last

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Well it went from a soap opera to a soap opera with a ridiculous hostage situation. Many people said they were canceling their SP after last weeks episode. I stuck it out one more week but now I'm done.

What the heck was that crap last night?

I just wish that some network exec will yank out David E. Kelly's soapbox while he is on it! I don't watch television to be preached to. If I want programming with a slanted viewpoint, I would watch Fox news.

Just like sports teams, government, the stock market, and everything else in the world - sometimes you hit cold stretches. Nothing is stellar 100% of the time, and I'm personally used to the ebb and tide of network TV. I believe, and always will, that "The Practice" is one of the best shows on television. If it's off track now, it won't be for long.

They're out of ideas. How many times can Lindsey get stalked.... Jimmy get rejected...... Eugene question his career..... Bobby question his religion..... and Eleanor strike out with men???

I agree in a way, family. But it wouldn't take much to start off in a bold, new direction, with more compelling storylines. I'm disappointed to see so many folks bailing ship because of a rough season.

I disagree! I am a E. Kelly fan. I loved Ally McBeal, I still watch Boston Public and I have always loved The Practice. However, I am noticing a trend with his work. He is letting his personal convictions (many of which I agree with) into his writing. I am tired of being preached to on a fictional based show. I believe that this train has completely jumped track and will never right itself.

It's seven years and last season was repetitive. If they brought a new interesting character in to replace that weasle DA or if either of the new female lawyers were anything... the show might hold some promise, but the reality is that they've added no one interesting on a series that began getting stale a year and a half ago.

I didn't like when Lindsey brought that young girl aboard..I forget her name, but she vomits everytime she gets nervous, which is admittedly ridiculous. I agree that things have gotten a little stale and could use a facelift. I guess what I'm trying to convey is that I will continue to stick by the show, but hope that they can right the ship. Maybe it's time for George Vogelman to return and chop off Elanor's head - though that could take awhile...

Yes, how dare he use television to exercise free speech! Television is for bland entertainment only, not for anything that would dare make the citizens think!

(I haven't watched this week's episode yet.)

Fictional! I don't watch these type of shows for a lesson in morality. I am not the only one, because they have been losing their share even before they moved nights.

Speaking of Facelifts...Could Laura Flynn Boyles face get any tighter???

I don't know what show you were watching before you took this stance, but the Practice has ALWAYS had plots loaded with morality issues. Sure the story arc this season is a little lame but the arguement that it is losing its viewership due to what you see as its preachy undertones just seems wrong to me. There is some other reason that viewership is decreasing.

I am a fan of DEK's shows as well, but none of them last forever. Ally McBeal was great, but it got old, and deservedly got canned. Boston Public was great, but it's gotten old, and should be canned, and the same holds true for The Practice.

Posted by: iceisles

The Practice should remain on the air for several more years. It has dipped in the ratings because they put it up aganst the CBS powerhouse, "Everybody Loves Raymond". It was doing fine in its original Sunday timeslot.

What do you people expect from a David Kelly enterprise anyway? Poor guy is having a nervous breakdown over current events like most of Hollywood and overcompensating by having a script hissey fit.

I liked The Practice, Ally Mcbeal & Boston Public a great deal their first few years, and all went down hill pretty fast. I actually think Ally held out the best, but this years Boston Public and most of The Practice have been horrible. And at least Boston Public still is about a school, The Practice sunk to a new low Monday.

Am I the only one who liked it?
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
The Bobby/Lindsay plot was boring but I liked the crazy lady plot. It was pretty funny at how much the networks crave ratings. The best part was when the TV reporter said something like "And if the network associate dies, the contestants will be challenged to eat him on next week's Fear Factor"

Her lips are swelling from all the collagen, sucking all the skin from her face.

Much as we like it, I think the show may have jumped the shark. It's become too much like a a soap opera. That's the beginning of a downward spiral we've seen in other Kelly productions. But what's with Les Moonves? What's in it for the president of CBS to appear on a competing network?

On top of that, ABC can't seem to get their schedule straight.

It is the revenge of Miracles for being canceled :)

I liked this episode, in fact I have liked all of the episodes. I don't like Lindsay's character anymore, would have loved to see her killed by the last wacky guy she had as a client. They need to use the supporting characters more, other than that, I have no complaints.

 Why, oh why did someone have to use that stupid shark phrase. It's the stupidest phrase I have ever heard.

1. Please, no sharks.

2. It's hard to believe that Lara Flynn Boyle was actually really attractive once! She has become unrecognizable.

Hmmm, not much substance here. Move along.

Posted by: DancnDude

My roommate watched The Practice with me this week and he hasn't seen it for a long time. He asked me if the DA was new until I told him it was still Lara Flynn Boyle and then he recognized her.

Posted by: Family

Lara Flynn Boyle is the female Michael Jackson (or the male one).
