I just bought a svr-2000 on ebay. I plan on adding a 80 gb hard drive to it. I'm just double checking i have everything right before i start.
1. I attach tivo A drive to computer, backup to my partition with fat32 on it.
2. Connect new tivo B, restore the backup onto it. Then test in tivo.
3. Then connect A and B drive and run mfsadd to make A drive aware of new space.
Is that basicly it??

I used to have an SVR-2000 myself. If you follow Hinsdale's instructions carefully, you should be fine. Remember to get a bracket for your second Drive.

I would just use mfsadd on the 80 gig drive. You can always find an image down the road, should you need one.
You could even go oldschool, and bless the second drive.

Actually, make the 80Gb drive the A drive (you don't have any recordings to worry about at this point, so you can just backup & restore).
Given that the original A drive is now several years old, you might want to think about retiring it.
