"Ed" Season Finale: Carol or Frankie?

With the "Ed" season (and maybe even series) finale coming up this week, just thought I'd try a poll on who people think Ed should choose. Carol or Frankie? I fully expect the writers to continue jerking us around by having Ed choose Carol. But I personally think Ed should choose Frankie.

Apparently you people have completely missed the highly charged sexual tension and subtext between Ed and Walter (a.k.a Dr. Jerome). Oh sure, they haven't had a scene together yet, but the attraction is just pulsing beneath the surface.

Yeah, we've been lead to believe that Carol is the one he really wants, but for the life of me I can't see why. As I've said so many times before, she's the least interesting character on the show.

Who I think he'll choose: Carol
Who I think he should choose: Frankie

I agree with Dignan, though: Bonnie Hane shoulda been a contender.

Been thinking about this. The writers have 'undumbed' Carol since the demise of Dennis. I love Frankie, but I ultimately see Ed choosing Carol.

I was reading a magazine the other day (OK, it was "People" magazine - but I was in a doctor's office), and I was shocked to see that Julie Bowen (the actress that plays Carol) is supposedly dating David Spade.

David Spade and Julie Bowen? I just don't get it. :confused:

Anyway, this poll has been going pretty much like I expected, except that I think Frankie has been losing votes to Dr. Jerome. :)

And I expected the lusty Stella to draw more votes. ;)

He'll choose Carol. He's always wanted her and even though he isn't convinced that she wants him, he'll go for her. Frankie was someone he married in his dreams but always came back to Carol.

He'll choose Carol. My only disappointment is that they didn't drag out Carol's "courting" longer. I'd have liked to have seen her get more creative than simply throwing Ed's own attempts to be unavoidable back at him.

Although Ed will probably choose Carol, I still voted for Frankie. Sabrina Lloyd rules! Anyway, it will be interesting to see how they handle it.

She was. David Spade gets all sorts of really hot girls.

She was talking about it on Howard Stern the other week. He kpet bugging her to go out with him, she kept saying know. When David's assistant used a stun gun on him, Julie said she felt bad for him and decided to date him. Pretty funny. (she was ther to play "Win Fred's Money")

I voted for Nancy because I think "Ed" is much too gentle and good-humored. Clearly, there needs to be a "sleeping with the best friend's wife" storyline if it gets renewed for next season, to shake things up a bit.

Plus, of the choices listed above, Nancy is the one who I would pick. Now, if Bonnie Hane had been listed... :D

Man, NBC has really been hyping the season finale. I think I've seen about three or four promos just in the last day or so.

Assuming there is a show to keep her on. Remember, the show has yet to be renewed.

Thats why i voted for Carol. If the show does not come back next year I would like it to wrap-up with the two of them finally together.

Of course if it does come back I think Shirley has been completely overlooked in this conversation ;)

Not to sound too alarmist, but over at AICN, Herc's now convinced that

TONIGHT'S EPISODE IS THE LAST ED EVER...

While it hasn't been officially cancelled, the signs are nearly overwhelming-- at least he thinks...

Argghh!!! Tivo didn't change channels (yet again) and I didn't get the season finale! Can someone let me know what happened???

I've changed my changing preferences and still get erratic behaviour. Now trying the *tent* the tivo site suggests. Does it help? Anyone know?

It's been suggested on more than one occasion that this very well could be a series finale instead of a season.

If that is the case though I wish they would have done something a little more meaningful with some of the secondary characters.

And I don't think this is a spoiler in the common use of the term but wasn't the drummer for Cheswick's band the kid who supposedly died when he got the same procedure as Mark?

I think it was the best choice, and he made it for the right reason. We all loved Frankie! She was a breath of life for this season. But all along, the writers 'undumbed' Carrol. By tonights episode she was back to everything we originally loved about her. I liked Ed's process, first choosing Frankie, then while seaking Carrol out to tell her, realizing that he does love Carrol the most.

Good episode. However, I too wonder what another season could offer...
