Tonight Show Season Pass Problems...

Does anyone know if NBC will ever fix the guide data for Leno? I have an SP for it to only pick up new epsodes, but it also always picks up the 2:05am showing as well (which are just reruns from a few weeks ago). To get around it I've just been going into the To-Do list and deleted them, but it's getting kind of ridiculous....

The only solution is to set it as a repeated manual recording to get the first show of the night. The second show is only a week old, so it slides under TiVo's first run filter -- 14 days from the Original Air date. In this case, it's not actually bad guide data.

But if I recorded the episode a week ago, I'm not sure I understand why TiVo would record it again. This is the only show I know of that works like this. BTW, I don't want to do a manual recording because then I wouldn't pickup Letterman when Leno is a rerun...

Geez. I saw "Tonight Show" and was thinking Carson.
Evil Big-Head-Man (whom I refuse to name) does not deserve the time slot, or the title. He deserves only your derision. And pity. For how can one be happy in life with such a large head?
(can you tell I've been drinking? It matters not. I am right about this.)

Sorry about that... I just checked and the schedule information is generic for the second showing, which means it will record if nothing else conflicts with a higher priority. It might be because I've always recorded the show with a Keep at Most 1 option and actually hadn't noticed that they don't provide a valid show description for the second showing. I quickly changed this from a SP to a manual recording -- I really don't care at all for Letterman.
Still, the only option is to do a manual recording if you want the first showing for the Tonight Show.
You could always write a letter to NBC and complain about the scheduling information. Be sure to indicate that you prefer Leno, but if they don't correct the scheduling information, that you will switch to Letterman as your preferred recording.
It's a stupid work around, but you could set up a short repeating recording, with Keep at most=1, for 5 minutes that conflicted with the repeat showing of the Tonight Show at a higher priority. This way the FRO season pass should work. I would still write the letter to NBC 'tho.
I find it ironic that the few networks that actively suppport/promote TiVo don't provide accurate scheduling data.

Heh - try the Daily Show. That one will record 4 episodes every day, if you don't delete the excess on the to-do list! Jon Stewart even mentioned it on his show - apologizing to us tivo users. So apparantly they're aware of the problem. But since it hasn't changed, I guess they don't really care.
Truthfully, after just deleting almost 2 weeks worth of extra Dail Shows from my to-do list, I think I'm just going to set up a manual recording schedule. In the long term, it will save me a lot of time. And wear and tear on the buttons on my remote. ;)

Now that I'm recording the old Farscapes at midnight I never get the first run Tonight Shows anymore so I'm actually leaving the 2:05 rerun on the schedule now.

I too just delete the 2:05 showings. It's part of a ritual I try to do every Sunday. Delete those, delete the 4:00am rebroadcast of the 11:00pm news, delete extra episodes of Punk'd and the Osbournes (although their guide data improved towards the end), and delete any Twilight Zone eps I've actually seen.
