new drive reports size of old drive?

I installed a new 120 Maxtor in place of a 60 in my series 2. I copied the drive using dd. My setup screen reports my recording time as 63 hours. Did I miss a step? Since dd does an exact copy, did I need to somehow expand the drive?

What you have is exactly right - and you are right, you need to expand the new drive. Use:
mfsadd -x /dev/hdY
Where Y is the position of the new drive in your PC. It'll be almost instantaneous, and you can pop it back in your TiVo and see the extra space.
