Dead Tivo?

Hi,
apologies if this in the FAQ somewhere, but I couldn't spot it.

Just bought a secondhand Tivo. Connected it to mains, phone, aerial & TV (SCART). I get nothing at all. The little green light is on, but there's no-one home. :(

Any suggestions? Anything I can try before getting it looked at professionally? And where would I do that?

Start by calling TiVo CS. The worst case with them is that you'll have to pay Ł90 for an out-of-warranty replacement.

I wouldn't think this was something you could fix yourself.

Just a green light, no response from the remote etc... Is an indication of the HDD is disconnected, failed, or corrupt. Try that route, have a search around the forum..

Thanks for the replies (and the private message).

I have had an offer of a spare HDD from a friend who's upgraded, so I'll try that first. If that works then it just needs an upgrade, so I've not really lost anything.

If that fails, then it'll be a call to CS.
