Petition to save "John Doe"

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: beertinted

Apparently John Doe may be on the bubble of getting cancelled.

If you'd like to help, click here:

(I didn't create this petittion, I just love the show!!)

Posted by: ufo4sale

a petition like this won't work.

Posted by: ufo4sale

when did you start the petition? You got more signitures then the petition for HMO on directv

Posted by: stagemaster

Thanks for the info. I did my part!

Posted by: TiVoJedi

Have these online petitions ever worked? I think it is too easy to fill out a form and have your name added on a list. Writing an actual handwritten letter and mailing it to the people that make decisions at the network probbaly would have a bigger impact.

Posted by: DancnDude

I doubt signing an online petition will do anything. Obviously the networks know how many people watch their shows, so a sub-group of them signing a petition won't pursuade them.

Posted by: Carlucci

Online petitions aren't worth the paper they aren't printed on.

Posted by: philw1776

Is there a URL for a petition to have this ludicrous show cancelled?

Posted by: Sarahbelle18

I've watched John Doe all season, but could not care less whether it stays or goes. Yes, the season finale was good...but there were some really painful episodes that I had to struggle through. I trust the FOX executives will make the right decision.

when has fox ever made the right decision on a show.

Yeah, why is The Simpsons still on?

I think these petitions have lost all impact simply because you can't cancel anything without a petition and fan campaign springing up. The TV-watching audience is the girl who cried wolf. Unfortunately this means we can't save even the shows that really need saving -- that is, the shows that I want saved! ;)

I'm agree with you. The episode where he lost his "powers" when struck by lightning and regained them at the end of the show with another electric shock was worse than the writing on any Enterprise episode.

Let me get this straight, you want ME to petition a show that I can't stand, that somehow got better ratings than one of my favorites, Firefly, which got canned earlier in the year? Bring on the axe, maybe FOX will someday figure out they canned the wrong one (Firefly, in case I was being too sarcastic) :)

Posted by: speedy4022

I would be really upset if they cancel john doe after they canceled firefly and if they keep fast lane one of worst shows on any network.

Pre-freakin'-cisely, my man
Cancel 'em all
Retribution for Firefly's demise

I watched the first five to ten episodes of John Doe. Thought it was really cool at first. But it got stale I guess. I lost interest. Haven't watched it in months.

Posted by: allan

I've never gotten into ANY of the Friday shows this season. John Doe, FastLane, and Firefly were the kind of shows I'd watch if there was no alternative, but nothing that I'd petition to save.

 Me too, I canceled this show in February. I found myself fast forwarding through too many episodes.

I want "Nowhere Man" back.

For those who mentioned Firefly, I read that Nathan Fillion is of the impression that a feature film is a possibility. He said this at the Buffy wrap party in an interview. I don't have the link but I'm sure someone here could find it. I, for one, would love to see Firefly return even if it is in a movie. The show was great, it was just on the wrong network. Fox doesn't know what to do with IMO original Sci-Fi.

Posted by: WinBear

John Doe isn't on the preview schedule Fox unveiled at the upfront presentations last week. Bummer, but I hope it makes it back somehow.

Posted by: LooseWiring

It's been offically cancelled. Sucks, but oh well. I wonder when Fox will realize that EVERY show they put on on Friday night is gonna get crappy ratings.

Now I know most here think Firefly was one of the best shows of all time (maybe not exactly what was said:p ). I only watched one show and didn't care for it, but my point is what movie studio will take a series that got bad ratings and make a feature film. What kind of audience could you expect? If the series didn't have that good of a following how many can you expect to go to a movie.

Has it really been officially cancelled? I can't find any news reports that say so, just the fact that it's not on the Fall schedule. My wife speculated that it may be used as a mid-season replacement...

Yes.

You guys have to admit, the show got progressively worse. I liked it at first, but by the end, bleck.

Posted by: DancnDude

I actually feel the exact opposite, whiston77. It intriqued me in the beginning, had some rough spots in the middle, but actually started becoming more interesting as it went on.

Maybe there is a possibility that another network could pick it up?

I dont agree. At first I just had a SP for it because of you guys. I thought John Doe was better. As time went on, Firefly became something I actually looked forward to seeing. there aren't too many shows I really get excited about. Too bad it got cancelled, but then I watch too much tv anyway.

I too hope some network will pick JD up. Loved it, especially over the past 6 to 7 episodes.

Let me get this straight, you read threads about shows that you can't stand?

And by the way, JD was much better than Firefly. I watched the first two episodes of Firefly and it was the first SP i deleted last season.

Yeah, but I'm sure it cost them more $$ to make than Joe Freakin' Millionaire. Hey, can they slap another crappy reality show in its place? Maybe they could run another episode of Cops? Or how about The Simpsons? Or an animated Cops?

I barely watch anything on Fox now, and without John Doe, I think the only thing left is the NFL. Like ABC, Fox is just about dead to me.
