Note it's still vaporware.
They also have a (vaporware) standalone DVD recorder listed.
I hope they merge the two to come up with a *MUCH* cheaper replacement for the HS2 and/or RD-X2.

Anyone know what apes's web site is ? I couldn't find it on a quick google.

Yah, I tried the same and couldn't find anyplace that looked reputable.
Man, I knew Apex was a "low-cost" manufacturer, but no website? That takes it to a whole new level...

I'm also waiting for this to be released. It would be a great VCR/DVD replacement.

Actually, Apex is not a maufacturer at all. They're basically a marketing company (based in California I believe). They purchase units from Chinese manufacturers, rebadge, and sell at bargain prices in the US. Though I'll grant at the moment, I can't even find the parent company website either.
IMO, the only useful things about Apex products is when you can land one of the players, like the A600 or AD1500 which can remove region coding and such.

Just noticed Sparky's post after I was stuck in timeout land for several minutes waiting for my post to save. Oh well, now we have two references to the site.

From what I have read, I believe Apex has input in the design and specifications of their products but of course don't own the plants that manufacture the products. Most consumer electronic products are manufactured under contract in Asian countries so this is not unusual.
