I bought a Linksys WUSB11 wireless adapter online yesterday, but I was not careful enough to ensure that it was ver. 2.6 as TiVo recommends. Judging by the picture on the website, it looks like I'll be receiving an older version of the WUSB11.

Has anyone had any success with the older WUSB11's? Or should I not even try?

I'd wait until you receive the item and try it. It may be that the vendor just never got around to changing the image on their website. Also, it has been reported in these forums that version 2.5 will actually work.

I have not heard of ANYONE getting an WUSB11 to work with TiVo so far. If it is a WUSB11 V2.5 it *might * work, you'd have to try it.

The WUSB11 is the box that has NO antenna, and takes a standard USB cable. (and will not work) :(

I think you are not quite right. I have the WUSB11 "version 2.6" working on my TiVo's now. Just plugged and played.

I think what he was trying to say is that any version of the WUSB11 adapter BEFORE v2.6 will not work. After all, WUSB11v26 is the recommended adapter by TiVo on their wireless network setup page:

Right :) Thanks for clarifying !

the WUSB11, and WUSB11 v2.6 are as different as a Tivo and Replay !

Why they used the same model number for COMPLETELY different hardware, I'll never know... Just another reason I try to stay away from linksys junk.
