What happened to the TiVo favicon?

My favicon's got deleted from my Links bar and now when I add TiVo back it's just the standard "E" with a page behind it. All my other favicons came back. I miss my little tivo guy.

Dunno. I get it just fine here using Mozilla Firebird (aka Phoenix).

I have never had a TiVo Favicon.
Actually looking through my Links and favorites, I only have 1 favicon out of the couple hundred shortcuts and that is for the Media Server Forum website:

For some reason whenever you clear the cache in IE it erases your favicons and you can only get them back by deleting the missing ones and then re-inserting them. I do this about once a month and now TiVo will not come back :( All my others do but not TiVo guy

This can also happen depending on the start page in the link. Try updating your shortcut to point to the opening page and see if the icon comes back. I had the same problem with mine after a format (saved favorites and such) until I went to the root TiVocommunity page.

Yep, it's gone for me, too. I think something happened to it. I lost it when I cleared my IE cache, which I do regularly, but this time I couldn't get it back by going to the home page. :( It's a sad, sad day.

Just get FavOrg/freeware: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,108438,00.asp
Description:
FavOrg scans the Web sites in your Favorites list for favicons -- custom icons provided by the Web site. The icons are displayed on the Favorites bar, the Favorites menu, and the Address bar. Custom icons make the Favorites list easier to scan, letting you locate a given shortcut faster. Microsoft added the custom icon feature to IE5; FavOrg brings this functionality to IE4 as well. Favicons are usually lost when you delete your Temporary Internet Files, but FavOrg preserves them. The program also lets you associate any icon you choose with a given shortcut, even if no favicon is provided. Since FavOrg must check the validity of an Internet shortcut before attempting to download the favicon, it automatically flags dead links as it goes through your Favorites list. If you like, it can update redirected links or reset dead links to the site's root. FavOrg was written by Patrick Phillipot, and first appeared in PC Magazine November 7, 2000 (v19n19). Source code is included.

With most (if not all) browsers, the favicon is saved in the active cache. If the cache is cleared, you need reobtain the favicon.
There is a standard place that they are kept; for this website, the url is http://www.tivocommunity.com/favicon.ico . As you can tell, that link is 404. The favicon is gone. Maybe it'll be back.

And it works well. (Be sure to turn off test IP connection if you have broadband or it will pop up a dial up connection prompt)
