Yahoo Link

Sorry I did not find this story elsewhere, but it seemed like news interesting enough to share.

Wow...that is VERY interesting...wonder how next season will go without Sorkin's writing..

Next season?

Here's the AP story on MyWay.com (same info, but link will last longer than Y! link).

And here's the zap2it.com version.

I say good riddance. Sorkin has one of the biggest egos in Hollywood.

There's some info on variety.com, though I don't subscribe so I can't read the article.

So much for a great show... :(

I was goofing around. The yahoo article says they were already picked up for two more years.

Frankly, I've already stopped watching.

TiVo is great at focusing your decisions. I have a high ranked season pass for west wing, but somehow other shows on now playing got watched first, until I had a big pile of them at the bottom of the list. No angst over deleting the SP, I've already proven that I don't watch it. Maybe I'll watch 'em this summer.

My wife and I are both huge WW fans, and we're VERY disappointed. Reading between the lines of the pretty vanilla AP wire report, it looks to me like Sorkin/Schlamme lost a power struggle over control of the show with the network. Now NBC will proceed to destroy a terrific show. Yes, Sorkin has an absurdly over-sized ego - so what? He consistently produces some of the best dialogue and pacing in modern network television. His input is going to be sorely missed - I'm betting on the show either not surviving its run through the remaining two years of its contract with NBC or barely limping to the finish line, after being banished to Saturday evenings.

He used to. WW has been pretty lame all year. The last episode -- about Hoynes -- was really good. Adding the guy from Sports Night was a good move (how funny is he with his "writing staff", all of the same first name).

WW fell victim to the "David Kelley" disease: a show that starts off really strong, gets good ratings, praised by critics...and then swiftly goes downhill after only a few years.

This situation may be the best thing for both WW and Sorkin/Schlamme. WW may improve and we'll get a new Sorkin show (hopefully) that will surely shine.

"Oh, wait, that was last night's episode, courtesy of assistant White House counsel Joe Quincy (played by guest star Matthew Perry), a Republican to boot, who forced Vice President John Hoynes (played by Tim Matheson) to resign over a sexual scandal. "
Did they watch this episode at all? MP character pieced the clues together, but hardly forced him to resign(I feel safe saying this without spoiler protection seeing as the episode starts off with the resignation and then jumps back to the events leading up to it.
