Please Help! Cannot Restore Virgin Image
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)
Posted by: DFWtivonut
My A drive on a dual drive directivo failed and I downloaded a single drive image and purchased an 80GB maxtor drive to restore the virgin image to.
The new drive is fresh out of the box. I copied the tivo.bak image to the C drive which is primary master and the maxtor new larger drive is a primary slave.
I am getting an error when trying to restore the image that the directory could not be found. The image file source is on my windows98 c: drive
should I be using the command line to restore and expand or just the restore command.
would someone be kind enough to reply with the proper command line
thanks

Did anything unusual happen when you mounted the C: drive?

Further, once you mount the c: drive:
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt
Then try changing to that directory:
cd /mnt
and listing the contents, to see if you see the file there:
ls
Does that work?

thanks will try the tips given.. This means I need to mount the new drive as well doesn't it? If so I feel stupid for not trying.
