I haven't read the suggestions forum for at least a year, but I figured I'd throw three HMO suggestions out there. (Does anyone from TiVo still read this forum?)

First suggestion: Display Correct Image Description Screen When Exiting
When I view a photo, then use Channel Up/Down 20 times to view other photos, it should remember where I've gone. When I finally exit via "left" on the remote, it should bring me to the most recent image I was viewing, not the original image that I started out with. This behavior would be more consistent with how channel up/down paging works elsewhere in the system, and besides that it's a pain the way it is now.

Second suggestion: Zooming In On Images
It's be really nice if we were able to zoom in on images. Perhaps pressing Select while viewing a picture would enter zoom mode, then up/down/left/right would scroll around the zoomed image. My camcorder does this and it's a nice feature. It'd be particularly nice after rotating an image 90 degrees with the instant-replay button, since that tends to make images appear zoomed-out so it can fit the whole image on the screen. By the way, images rotated 90 degrees seem a bit too thin - I think something is off.

Third suggestion: Thumbs Feedback on Images and MP3s
I really want this one.. Pressing Thumbs-Up or Thumbs-Down on an image should send a message to the HMO server (whether it be iTunes, the Windows equivalent, or a Linux application) via a new extension to the protocol. Someone suggested this already for MP3s and iTunes, so that you could rate a particular song (since iTunes lets you rate songs and uses that for smart playlists). Well for images, the implementation of this feature could be server specific.

I have a gallery of thousands of home photos from vacations and such, and would love to be able to rate which pictures were our favorites (for use later in creating albums, or for prioritizing which images to display more often on a random picture page etc). All I'm asking for here is the extention to the protocol (feedback) for both photos and MP3s.

Mirrored Complaint: No Music While Viewing Images
Obviously as many have suggested, it's really a pain that you can't listen to music while browsing photos.

There are my 2 cents. I use the music and photo options way way more than I thought I would. Looking forward to seeing enhancements.

I'd also like to see 'screensavers' for playback of music, ala iTunes, WinAmp, etc..

Also, a better description of how to remote control the mp3 playback would be nice. I _just_ figured out how to skip tracks without going into the album display (chan up/down.. makes sense but it's not entirely obvious :/)

Album art would be cool too, iTunes just added it in 4.0 for the purchased music, but with broadband it'd be cool if Tivo supplied it based on id3 tag.
