Finally got around to watching the Alias season end episode--SPOILERS!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Finally got around to watch the 2-hour season-ending episode of Alias.

Seems safe to say that the ending qualifies as a cliff-hanger. I haven't a clue as to what's going on. :-(

Whoever's in charge of Cosmic Random Events (TM) that caused the failure of the Tivo Community Board during Season Ending Sweeps should win an award; they sure picked a good time to cut off all discussion about "important" events.

Looking on the bright side, I didn't accidently read any more insufferable hypocrisy on the "24" threads about that show's previews. :-)

Where have you been? the site was down 2 years ago and has been up since then!

someone send you into the future or something?

we're in May 2005! :D

Only 79 posts in three years, nellee?

Oh, that's right, Dave had to reboot the Matrix, er, Forum 921 times in the past two years. Something to do with temporal fluxes, I think. :D

It's true! Tachyons are causing double posts!

I finally got around to watching this and WOW! I sure didn't see that ending coming. It would seem that Sidney has either had something surgically implanted or more likely, something removed to make the Rimbaldi device work. It looks like Allison really did develop a soft spot for Will or she would have killed him. Did anyone else think that Sark gave in far too easily?

Now I need to watch the last three Enterprise episodes.

With the implanted/removed comment, are you referring to the scar? If so, I think that most people are missing what that was...

During the fight scene with PodFrancie, Syd got slashed there, as I recall. I believe, without going back to re-watch the episode, that PodFrancie had a knife at one point that she managed to slash Syd in the side with. The scar was to show that time had indeed passed for her, that the wound had time to close up and scar over. I don't think it was a surgery scar, it was just a wound scar.

Your very likely right.. I hadn't even considered that. I was thinking about what "mom" said to her about actually being the person in the prophecy.

I kind of came up with a kind of out there theory but here it is: maybe from some point in this past season to where she wakes up at the end of the episode she is just in some sort of dream sequence (maybe something related to the rambaldi device?) that never actually happened, my guess, sometime before they took down SD-6 (when Sid and Vaugns relationship escalated).

At the end of the episode when Sidney asks if Will was ok, Vaughn just said 'yes' but it seemed like he was unsure why she would ask that. It seems unlikely that Will could have survived, considering it's unknown exactly how much time it was before Francie killed Will and when Sid showed up at the house. I find it hard to believe that the fake Francie would just leave Will alive and throw him in the tub. Even if her attack hadn't killed him right away, he would have probably died from his injuries by the time help could have gotten to him. Aside from that, the fact that Vaughn had gotten married seems feasible; if Sidney had disappeared before her and Vaughns relationship escalated, he probably would have still been going out with the girl he had been going out with before Sidney, so without Sidney in his life he more than likely could have married her.

This may have been a way for the show's creators to have more than one way to go. If I remember correctly, SD-6 was taken down right around the time ABC was trying to pull in new viewers calling it the "New Beginning" or whatever, so this way if all the changes weren't received well by fans they could rewind back to before the change without killing the story line, and if fans did take to it, they could just continue the story as it happened. Just my two cents.

IMO, the producers must have thought that Vaughn's relationship with Sydney had to be ended since one of the teaser elements of the show was whether or not they would get together and that was lost. Now they can have them deal with their forced alienation and perhaps give
Sydney a new love interest. What they definitely need to do is bring back the red and black bikinis. There had to be a Rimbaldi payoff and I suspect it is the time warp phenomenon as an initial element.

I just got around to watching this myself. (Yeah, I'm slow.) I had a different theory: a Rimbaldi device allowed her to travel in time. She chose to go back to save Francie from the evil double. That screwed everything up, so she and Vaughn were never an item. Vaughn gave her a quizzicle look about Will because, in the new reality, he never got hurt, possibly never even got into the CIA.

That's a cool theory!

You should write for the show! That would be a great plotline.

Just finished watching the season finale; good stuff! I can't wait for the new season to begin; they've got lots of explaining to do. :)

I just caught the finale (it was rebroadcast on Sunday)--and the teaser for the season premier. The finale was excellent, and things look to get very interesting. Like the 24 season 3 teaser, it seems more like a movie preview than a TV show preview.

In searching for this thread, I saw a bunch of comments related to the "Countdown" episode (the one before the 2 hour finale). Seems that everyone was sick of the Vaugn / Syd romance; clearly the writers recognized that and nipped it in the bud making everyone's wish come true.
