Special thanks to the response of my previous post. I was able to get the virgin image restored to a new maxtor 80gb drive. At the end of the restore utility I received a message that I had approx 80hrs (41 more hrs) available.

I reassembled the tivo unit and proudly took it to the den and hooked it up. My pride quickly vanished. When I turn the unit on I get the Welcome, Powering up screen. Then I notice the receive light on the unit comes on and goes off and then I get about 1 second of static on the screen and back to the welcome powering up.

I am beginning to think I am cursed. Anyone have any ideas on how I should proceed?

Pretty strange - have you checked your jumpers and cables?

It was too late on Wed night to re-open and check...will dbl check cables/jumpers on Thursday and reply back with thumbs up or thumbs down. Hats off to this forum for the guidance.
