I have posted twice before. Once because I couldn't get restore to work (admittedly my fault) but now I am completely perplexed why I am not getting a good boot. I get the welcome powering up screen then the screen goes blank and returns to the welcome screen once again. So I would say I am seeing this thing rebooting itself.

I dblchecked the jumper (this is a single drive image); set as master.
I dblchecked the drive cable
I restored a different image with same result

What else can I do or check....I'm afraid my next step is to send the drive to hinsdale or weeknees to have the image installed and hopefully tested but at the moment I can't really afford it.

any assistance is greatly appreciated

I couldn't find it in the earlier post - what model TiVo is it?

Original configuration was a 30GB married to a 15GB drive but the original drive no longer boots because of disk failure.

Its amazing how much you miss the Tivo once it isnt there.
