Good morning Life is bad without tivo
Went to replace 1 80 gig maxtor hardrive that was failing om my sat t60 with 2 maxtor drives. The failing drive is the a drive. Put the replace drive in my pc as the primary master and the old tivo a drive in as the primary slave.
Booted up the tivo cd. Gave the command :
dd if=/dev/hdb of=/dev/hda bs=1024k
went to bed. Woke up and checked computer. the screen said 2 records in 2 records out. Said this sound good. Put new drive in tivo.
Tried to bootup. Now just stuck on powering up screen.
What went wrong.
This was an original 2 drive sat t60 that I upgraded to the 2 80gig drives. I thought I just made an exact copy of the A drive, Did I miss something?

You should have a lot more than 2 records - either your original drive is really in bad shape, or it's locked. What sizes did they report on boot?

If you enter "dmesg | more", you will be able to see those messages again.
