Amazing Race 4 Discussion w\Post Show Spoilers

Just about twenty-four hours before my favorite show returns for a new season and I can't wait. <dancing feet mode on> Happy! Happy! Happy! Happy! <dancing feet mode off>
I know a lot of people around here seem to like this show, however is there anyone else other than me who has been counting down the days. :)
I may need therapy!
I hope the show does well in ratings this year.

I enjoy The Amazing Race, but I like shows like Survivor and The Mole a bit more. The Amazing Race sometimes gets a bit bogged down in the airport scenes, and Phil is a bit wooden for a host. I'm also a bit sick of hearing the explanation of what a Road Block is every single freakin episode. One thing I will say, is that this show has gotten consistently better since the first season. Even though they've stuck with the same basic formula, they improved it in small ways each season to keep things very close and exciting. Let's just hope this year a whiny little bitch doesn't win it. :D
My SP is already set up. This will probably be my #1 show throughout the summer.

The road blocks and other things need to be explained every time for the first time viewers to know what's going on. But I agree it gets tedious.
And I thought the first season was the best by far.
This show should do better than usual because it's not up against much competition because of summer repeats. Maybe a lot of people will watch who normally wouldn't have, and that'll translate into bigger audiences and more seasons.
I hope.
I too can't wait until tomorrow.

no no no a whiny little bitch can't win.
that was sooooo last season. I mean, who wants to be the new Flo or Jenna, really?

Love the show. I was miffed about Flo as well but if I think about it I can't remember ever feeling satisfied with the winners. They just seemed like the same carbon copy white males with average personalities. Now if Drew and Kevin had won or even Cha-cha-cha, I would have been happy. I think Zach deserved to win, even if his partner was a total baby. I admit I wish Oh Brother had taken the final prize, but at least that horrible Terri and Ian didn't win. YMMV

Cha-cha-cha have been my favorite team over all the season's. I have watched Survivor and The Mole from their first episodes but this is still the best reality show. Although I will admit that the last Survivor was much better than any in recent memory.

Yeah the Mole is a very close second for me and I do think that Anderson Cooper was\is the best of all the reality TV hosts. However, although I found Phil a little wooden in the first year I thinks he has gotten much better and does a very good job.

I have to check out The Mole next time around. These TAR threads always seem to evolve into a discussion on The Mole.
Must be a great show.

you have no idea how great it is
Posted by: mask2343
Yeah, the Mole is great...until you come to a message board and someone has figured out who the mole is by some clue. It kind of ruins the experience.

Survivor was a bit like that this year. Once the story broke about the on-line gambling services suspending betting and who the CBS employees were betting on, you expected what happened.

Maybe they should have chuck woolery host?

I would much ratehr see it discussed in an episode by episode thread format as opposed to one super long thread.

Five Hours Tic Toc Tic Toc Tic Toc.......................

I agree with Haps. Rather than let this thread reach an insane size, I'd prefer individual threads for each week (like we did for AI and Survivor)

agree. Seperate thread for each episode and tag spoilers with the previews.

Funny how people differ. I'm the opposite. I prefer to have just one thread to refer to rather than thirteen or more. This is what I set up last year and it seemed to work well. I guess we will wind up doing whatever the most folks decide they want.
If a mod could add a poll that might be fun.

This would be my preference, too.

Maybe individual episode threads, but a link to the next thread at the end of the previous thread???

Thread per week please.

I agree, one thread per week, link to it at the end of last week's thread, and spoiler-tag any preview info.
And man, you guys scared the crap out of me! I saw the thread title, and 2 pages worth of replies, and was afraid the show had aired last night and I'd missed it. Glad to see you're all just excited about it starting again.

Since most of us seem to want an individual thread for each week's show, I've taken the liberty of starting one here.
