TiVoWeb v1.9.4 - UI module won't load

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: mattopia

Hello all,

I've been using TiVoWeb for a little under a year now with no problems. I was running 1.9.4 beta 4 (or 5, can't recall). Never had any problems.

Recently I upgraded from the beta series to v1.9.4. For some reason, the UI module now errors when trying to load the ui module. All other modules work fine and do not cause any problems.

Tivo version is 3.0-01-1-000, kernel Version 2.1.24-TiVo-2.5

Output to console when starting TiVoWeb: (I've tried with and without the tivoweb.cfg file and various tweaks within the file. Output and results are the same regardless.)

bash-2.02# /var/hack/tivoweb-tcl/tivoweb console
bash-2.02# TiVo Web Project - TCL - v1.9.4

Any help anyone can offer is much appreciated. I tried stepping back to beta 5 and it still seems to not work..??

I've got basically the same problem.
The weird part is that if manually surf to

http://tivo/ui

I get the UI page no problem. It just can't load into the main menu and doesn't show on the top menu.

But in a possibly related manner, when I try to get show information, before Episode Title, I get the following error:

quote:

INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
--cut here--
action_showing '/1212192/11' ''
can't read "genrenums": no such variable
while executing
"lsearch $genrenums $genre"
("foreach" body line 2)
invoked from within
"foreach genre $genres {
set genreindex [lsearch $genrenums $genre]
if { $genreindex != -1 } {
if { $genrestr != "" } {
append ..."
("uplevel" body line 255)
invoked from within
"uplevel $body"
invoked from within
"transaction {uplevel $body}"
(procedure "RetryTransaction" line 5)
invoked from within
"RetryTransaction {
if { [regexp {([0-9]*)/(.*)} $objectid junk fsid subobjid] } {
set showing [db $db openidconstruction $fsid $subobjid]
} els..."
(procedure "::action_showing" line 47)
invoked from within
"::action_$action $chan $part $env"
("eval" body line 1)
invoked from within
"eval {::action_$action $chan $part $env}"
--cut here--

Then the rest of the page loads fine

I just found this on another forum at ptvugrade:

ui.itcl discussion

Backup your old ui.itcl, download this one, make sure you have tivoweb do a quick reload and it just works!

I had the same problem, this worked like a charm.. Thanks for posting the link to the fix.

I was convinced that in all my mucking around in the guts of my tivo I had broken something.. I probably still have, I just have not uncovered it yet!

Thanks Again!

It's a known issue, and should probably be put in the faq. It's caused be some genre changes TiVo made.

Just upgraded to the Final version and bumped into this issue... why hasn't the official release been patched? (just wondering, not trying to be a jerk)
