In order of how easy I think they would be to do...

1. Once I select a playlist or directory, it should continue playing even if I go select pictures to look at.

2. Allow me to select as many songs as I want to play ahead of time, and play them in the order I select them (e.g., like a jukebox).

3. Play video file formats from the PC (e.g., I do a lot of digital video editing, and it's annoying to have to output it to tape just so I can watch it on the TV or show it to friends).

I would like:

1. When done playing a folder of music, TiVo seems to timeout and go back to live TV. Don't do this! This is annoying if you have played some music just before bed, and then some time after the music is done, TV is shouting at me through my speakers.

2. When playing an album, I'd like to make the default "no shuffle". But when playing a folder of albums, I'd like the default to be "shuffle". It might be nice to have some more controls in this area.

3. Add a search. I have over 4300 mp3s, and sometimes it would be easier to find a song by name than trying to figure out my filing system.

4. Be able to display by genre in addition to file/directory structure.

5. Dynamic creation of playlists on the TiVo, instead of through the computer.

1. Control transfers of programs from either TiVo...instead of just the 'requesting' TiVo.

2. Both TiVo's be REALLY Networked together and able to control & program either of the TiVo's.

I would love it if it could do everything X10's Lola can. I'm seriously considering getting Lola, but I rather do everything with my TiVo.

Check out the live demo here to know what I'm talking about. Easier then typing it all out:

Be warned though...horrible horrible acting will be shown in this demo.

I would like to be able to type the IP address of my Tivo in a web browser on a pc connected to my home network and control the tivo just as I can with a remote control. This would allow me to set all my season passes easier and delete shows, etc. Also I think Tivo's Remote Scheduling needs alot of work there is so much more they could offer and allow us to control from a remote location.

Bump, Bump, Bump. I like my pictures and music and want my music to play with my slide shows, but these two suggestions are right on.

3. Full Admin control of my TiVo's via the PC through software on my PC (enhanced TiVo Beacon/Server, etc.) and through the web (secured through TiVo Central is just fine with me...I don't need my TiVo boxes open to the world).

4. Shared Conflict Mgmt (just like having multiple tuners via the network).

5. Ability to start transfering/watching a program via another Tivo while the other is still recording that program.

6. Ability to send video from my home PC to the TiVo. I'm not asking for Video Extraction off the TiVo, I'm asking for easy video import or at least linkage/play of my home movies via the PC (just like photos and music). I know that people may use this for other types of video archive/play, but it would be hard to sue TiVo, Inc. for recording an inbound video source or simplying playing back a video stream from another home source like a PC.

note: manufacturer's of photocopiers, vcrs, and CD/DVD burners are not liable for copyright violations by the user. It's the user's choice to use the instrument in violation of the law or not. I don't know why TiVo thinks they're any different company.

I'd like to be able to listen to streaming audio off the net through my TiVO HMO. It shouldn't be too hard to incorporate Real Player into the TiVo...

I agree 100% with wjarrettc!

Since I purchase my CD's and don't download them it easier to use my CD player than my TV.

And while it was nice to look at porn on my TIVO its not worth $100, it would be cheaper to order CINIMAX.

But if I could STREAM the CUBS games to my TIVO when the CUBS are not on TV, or even better if I could RECORD streaming audio that would be AMAZING and well worth the money TIVO is asking for HMO.
