Wireless USB Adapters?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've looked at the official list on Tivo.com for Wireless USB adapters that work with 4.0 but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience getting OTHER adapters to work. Specifically, anyone get the US Robotics wireless adapter to work? It can be had for $17.99 after $10 rebate at MicroCenter.
Anyone?

I can't speak to the US Robotics adapter -- but before you decide see if you selected adapter appears in any threads. While they work in the end a number of people have had difficulty with the LinkSys WUSB11. I have seem fewer problem reports for the WUSB12 and the NetGear MA101 (which works for me). But YMMV

If you go with linksys, definitely buy the WUSB12 model...it's more upwards compatible with 54G devices via TiVo.
Also, be very careful about length...if you want to show share at some point, have a 60%+ or better connection is essential.

they have a usb12 model? has anyone tried it with Airport Extreme? my usb11 model forces me to use my Airport Extreme base station in 802.11b mode only. not 802.11b/g dual mode. will the usb12 allow me to use the dual mode setting? will other adapters allow me to use the dual mode?

I already had two Microsoft wireless adapters. And while one works fine on my brand new Series 2 (living room), my older S2 (bedroom) had intermittent outages. I tried switching adapters between living room and bedroom and had the same results with the older unit.
I then purchased a Linksys adapter and the outage problem went away. The more recent Series 2's may have better hardware compatibility (even though the OS versions are identical.)

My linksys usb12 model works while my linksys G router is in dual mode. Of course, it's 802.11b speeds through the adapter, but I am able to get my laptop to connect @ G speeds...
