Last year, someone posted a link to a site that would tell whether a baseball game was still ongoing, without spoiling the score. This allowed TiVo users, like me, to know whether to adjust their padding, without spoiling the score. I can't seem to find the post now. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

That seems like it would be a cool hack or feature sometime in the distant future... to access a website like that and automatically adjust the recording so that it always gets to the end of the game.

At least if is on MLB EI and a DirecTivo, it won't actually record anything once the game is over. It will tie up your Tivo until the 6 hour block is done, but at least it doesn't use up space.

Games over 6 hours are the problem. I also went ahead and changed my regular SP for games on channels other than MLBEI to pad the maximum so I wouldn't miss any more extra innings games.
