wrong channel recorded

Ok folks,

I have an HDR212, with the factory A drive,
and I installed a maxtor 120 B drive.
Everything works great.
I installed a turbonet card last night,
which seem to go pretty well.
I can ftp, telnet, and http (with tivoweb).
I have a season pass for "Family Guy"
and this morning, I was going to watch
the episode that was recorded from last
night, my tivo had jumped to the
wrong channel. Is there something
in my install that may have caused
this, or just a random bug or what?
Thanks in advance for the help!

If you're using an IR blaster with a cable box or DTV receiver then you may want to insert one or two pauses in between channel numbers. Sometimes the IR receivers on the cable or DTV boxes don't respond quickly enough to the signal transmitted by the Tivo so adding a pause between each transmitted number gives it time to catch up and get the info correctly. If you're using a straight cable connection or serial controller to an external box then it sounds like the Tivo just hiccupped when attempting a channel change.

Thanks for the reply.

I am using a serial controller
from my dtv receiver.
This is the first time
I have had this problem,
it has been recording
all other episodes just fine.
Could be just a fluke eh?
maybe so! Thanks again!!

A standalone PVR will not correctly change DirecTV channels 100% of the time. It sounds like you have had a better than average success rate. I would just chalk it up to an unusual fluke and hope it happens as infrequently in the future.
